We are pleased to offer this late autumn sunshine tour based in the delightful resort of Roses. The main attraction on the Costas of Catalonia are the beaches and the mild climate, however the Costa Brava has managed to retain much of its original charm and this beautiful region is well worth a visit. Roses is a delightful resort nestled in a bay with a lovely sandy beach whilst still retaining an historic ‘old town’ feeling. The Citadel is well worth a visit and other attractions include the Sunday morning market, various boat trips and land train excursions. Our hotel is ideally situated right on the seafront with direct access to the promenade. Enjoy the special food, drink and entertainment package that we have arranged at the hotel.
Saturday, 27 October
Transfer to Hull for the overnight crossing to Zeebrugge. (Meals not included).
Sunday, 28 October
We journey through Belgium into France making suitable refreshment breaks en route to our overnight hotel where bed and cold buffet breakfast accommodation has been arranged at the Hotel Ibis Chalons Sur Saone.
Monday, 29 October
We continue our journey following the Rhone Valley South. With the Pyrenees in sight we cross the border into Spain and then continue the short distance to our hotel in Roses where accommodation has been arranged for 7 nights in the excellent Monterrey Hotel.
Excursions
• A full day tour via the rugged coastline of the Costa Brava with its magnificent sea views. We continue through Port Bou and over the border into France to the pretty village of Colliure. Once a fortified port and favourite haunt of Bohemian from both past and present. Dali and Picasso have both worked here and today young artists paint the quaint colourful harbour and the Royal Palace.
• Full day into the magnificent Pyrenees (Visit the picturesque village of Castellfolit de la Roca).
• Half day visit to the beautiful city of Girona with its magnificent buildings and medieval centre.
• Morning visit to medieval Figueres where you can admire the works of surrealist artist Salvador Dali in the Dali Museum. Afternoon visit to the yachting resort of Empuriabrava.
• There will be 2 free days to enjoy Roses.
Monday, 5 November
We retrace our journey into France for overnight bed and cold buffet breakfast accommodation at the Hotel Ibis Chalons Sur Saone.
Tuesday, 6 November
Travel North into Belgium for the overnight crossing from Zeebrugge to Hull. (Meals not included).
Wednesday, 7 November
Hull to local area. Arrive home lunchtime.
YOUR HOTELS
The 2 star HOTEL IBIS CHALONS SUR SAONE is ideally located for easy access to the motorway. It is a modern spacious hotel with 86 rooms, which are all en suite and have colour satellite TV, direct dial telephone and air conditioning. There is a restaurant and wine bar. There is a lift.
The 3 star HOTEL MONTERREY is located on the seafront with direct access to the promenade and beach. The en suite bedrooms are fitted with heating, ventilator, telephone, satellite television, hair dryer, fully fitted bathroom and balcony. You can enjoy the finest Mediterranean cuisine in the restaurant, with a personal, professional service and quality ingredients in all products used. There is an outdoor swimming pool, garden, gym, sauna and bar. Entertainment is available on some evenings. There is a lift but there are steps up to the hotel and to the reception areas on the first floor.
