This ‘Touch of Class’ tour is sure to delight our discerning customers, with accommodation at the excellent 4 star Radisson SAS Hotel in central Durham. In addition to the North York Moors and the historic delights of Durham we include a day at Alnwick Garden, the most popular garden destination in the UK.
Day 1
Enjoy a morning drive via Easingwold and Brandsby to Helmsley. After a break we climb into the Hambleton Hills to enjoy a wonderful drive along the Cleveland Way to Stokesley. We continue to Durham for 3 nights half board accommodation at the excellent Radisson SAS Hotel.
Day 2
A full day to enjoy the historic delights of the City of Durham.
The sheer scale of the city’s architecture makes it a pleasure to explore and history echoes with every step along the winding cobbled lanes, crowned by the majestic cathedral. Durham has a timeless quality with rowing on the Wear and relaxing riverside walks, yet buzzes with superb cafes, shops and galleries. Enjoy a cruise on the river, visit the ancient cathedral or simply escape to the 13th century Crook Hall gardens. You will have a perfect day.
Day 3
A full day to visit the town of Alnwick and the famous Alnwick Garden which is one of the most exciting contemporary gardens on earth. A garden for gardeners, with a design that looks to the future. It's a stunning attraction and a floral wonderland. You can see acres of fascinating plants, water sculptures and the infamous Poison Garden. The landscape is eclectic, from the gentle waves of colour and scent in the Rose Garden to the riotous water displays of the Grand Cascade.
Day 4
Depart after breakfast and return via the Pennine Moors to enjoy the spectacular scenery of the Tees Valley. Arrive home early evening.
