Discover the very best Kent has to offer and our base in Hythe is ideally situated for our awayday to Belgium, via the Channel Tunnel to visit historic Ypres where you will see the cemeteries and memorials commemorating the fallen in WWI. There will be some free time in the town square to sample the delicious Belgium Beer, waffles and chocolates. We also visit Bodiam Castle and a journey on the Kent & East Sussex railway (April) and Pashley Manor Gardens (September).


Day 1

We travel south via the main roads and motorways to Hythe for 4 nights half board accommodation at the Best Western Stade Court Hotel.

 

Excursions

April

Enjoy a journey on the Kent & East Sussex Railway from Tenterden to Bodiam with included visit to Bodiam Castle which is a perfect example of a late medieval moated castle, set amidst the beautiful Sussex countryside. On our return we stop in the ancient town of Rye with its enchanting cobbled streets, medieval church and beautifully preserved houses.

September

We visit the ancient town of Rye with its enchanting cobbled streets, medieval church and beautifully preserved houses. We continue to Pashley Manor a quintessential English garden with a sumptuous romantic landscape, imaginative planting, fine old trees , fountains and large ponds.

Both Dates

A full day excursion to Belgium via the Channel tunnel (Passport required). We will see cemeteries and memorials and offer free time in the beautiful town square of Ypres to sample the Belgian beer, waffles and delicious chocolates.

We enjoy a visit to Canterbury with its historic cathedral, we call at the Hurricane and Spitfire Museum at RAF Manston, continue to Dover with a stop at the Battle of Britain memorial, return via Folkestone.

Day 5

Depart after breakfast and travel via the main roads and motorways. Arrive home early evening.
