We also include a full day to the Ironbridge Gorge spanned by Thomas Telford’s famous bridge, the tour ends with a trip on the Severn Valley Railway. An interesting tour based in the Georgian splendour of Stourport on Severn.


Friday, 2 April

We travel south west to Shrewsbury, which is one of England’s finest medieval market towns famous for its timber framed buildings and being the birthplace of Charles Darwin. Later we head for Stourport on Severn for 3 nights half board accommodation at the Menzies Stourport Manor Hotel.

Saturday, 3 April

Today we enjoy a full day to Ironbridge Gorge, our tour includes a passport to visit all the museums and attractions spread along the valley beside the River Severn. See the products that set industry on its path and the machines that made them. Watch and talk to the Museums’ craftsmen and costumed demonstrators as they work iron, fashion china and glass, and bring alive the people who lived and worked here.

Sunday, 4 April

Enjoy a relaxing 45 minute cruise on the historic River Severn from the prestigious city of Worcester. Built in 1926 as a launch, the Earl is recognised as one of Britain’s historic vessels. We later continue to Ledbury with its magnificent jumble of black and white shops and hostelries, it’s a picture of Herefordshire life almost unchanged for centuries.

Monday, 5 April

Before departing for home we include a journey on the Severn Valley Railway from Kidderminster to Bridgnorth. There will be some free time before departing for home, arrive home early evening.
