Sidmouth is a picturesque town on the south Devon Coast, charming and unspoilt it is a sanctuary from the excesses of modern day tourism. It is a frequent winner of the ‘National Britain in Bloom’ title and is famed for its wealth of fine architecture and the town centre offers an excellent range of individual shops and is a delight to browse. We are pleased to secure accommodation at the excellent Royal York & Faulkner Hotel which has a superb location, atmosphere and service.


Monday 22 March

Travel south West via the main motorway routes, we enjoy a stop at Webbs of Wychbold which is a quality garden centre. There are fifty acres of gardening, leisure and pleasure and a relaxing Cafe Restaurant and picnic area. We continue to Sidmouth for 4 nights half board accommodation at the Royal York & Faulkner Hotel.

Tuesday 23 March

Enjoy a free morning for a spot of shopping and sightseeing around Sidmouth. In the afternoon we visit Bicton Park Botanical Gardens, these magnificent gardens are set in East Devon’s picturesque Otter Valley.

Wednesday 24 March

We visit historic Ottery St Mary and Honiton which has become a popular centre for antiques and antiquarian books. We continue to the City of Exeter which is full of character and ancient history.

Thursday 25 March

A morning excursion to elegant Lyme Regis the pearl of the Jurassic coastline. Stand on the Cobb where Meryl Streep stood, looking forlornly out to sea in the film adaption of ‘The French Lieutenant’s Woman. The afternoon is free to explore Sidmouth.

Friday 26 March

We depart after breakfast and return via the main roads and motorways. We arrive home early evening.
