Set around a sheltered bay, majestic Oban has become Scotland’s most popular west coast holiday town. The sheltered port is known as the ‘Gateway to the Isles’ being the main harbour for traffic to the Western Isles. The seafront and centre are flat and the town provides a variety of shops, book this great short break and find out why Oban has been described as one of the most scenic travel destinations.


Monday 15 March

We travel north over the border, via Loch Lomond to Oban for 4 nights half board accommodation at the Royal Hotel.

Excursions

A day to Fort William, the largest town in the West Highlands. We return via Kinlochleven and Glencoe Visitor Centre.

Visit Cruachan Power station, one of the hidden wonders of the Highlands. A power station buried deep within the mountain of Ben Cruachan, an underground world on a spectacular scale. We also visit Inveraray and Lochgilphead.

Short day to Seil Island and the Atlantic Bridge.

Friday 19 March

Depart after breakfast and return via Crianlarich. Arrive home early evening.

The 3 star ROYAL HOTEL dominates the town square in the very heart of Oban. It was built in 1895 and offers traditional Scottish hospitality within quality modern surroundings. There is a good restaurant with a good wine list. There is a lounge bar or you may prefer to sit in the comfort of the quiet lounge. All the bedrooms are en suite with colour TV, telephone, hairdryer and tea making facilities. There is a lift.
