Bournemouth is one of Britain’s best loved resorts with its most valuable asset being miles of golden sands that stretch around the bay. Its acres of parks and gardens and traffic free promenades are a constant joy. Combine this with varied entertainment and a wealth of interesting places to be found nearby and you can see why people return year after year. Accommodation is at the excellent Riviera Hotel situated in the lovely Alum Chine area. The Riviera is a firm favourite with Bibby’s customers.
Sunday 28 February
We travel south via the main roads and motorways to Bournemouth for 4 nights half board accommodation at the Riviera Hotel.
Excursions
Poole, a stunning natural harbour with a bustling quay – including Poole Pottery with free afternoon in Bournemouth.
Dorchester – which featured in several of Thomas Hardy’s novels as Casterbridge, today a traditional market is held every Wednesday with over 500 stalls selling a wide variety of products. Later we continue to Weymouth with its historic harbour.
Morning visit to Salisbury, with its medieval cathedral followed by a tour of the New Forest.
Thursday 4 March
Depart after breakfast and return north via the main roads and motorways. Arrive home early evening.

The 3 star RIVIERA HOTEL is situated in the quiet and beautiful wooded area of Alum Chine with panoramic views across the bay. The beach is just a short walk and the town centre is a pleasant stroll along the promenade. There are excellent leisure facilities including an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, sauna and jacuzzi. All the bedrooms are en suite with colour TV, hairdryer, telephone and tea making facilities. The restaurant serves excellent food and there is a large dance floor. There is a lift.
